Borneo Kiim Resort

The four-kilometre gravel road to get here is rough enough that I don’t think I’d return. The resort itself is quite decent, though the pool and other areas really need more maintenance.

The room had a slightly musty smell, and the bed could roll around, but I still slept well. There were lots of mosquitoes at night, so bring repellent or borrow Ridsect from the staff like we did. We were the only guests, which made for a different sort of stay, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. They promptly fixed the water heater when it stopped working. Dinner delivery was especially thoughtful: they set up a table for the four of us and brought coffee, tea, water, and orange juice with the delicious meals. We even got complimentary ice cream for dessert. Breakfast was nasi lemak.

The drive here is a little challenging, but you do get here in the end. The view and pool were lovely, especially the private tent. On the afternoon of 23rd Dec 2023, the receptionist was handling things alone but still looked after all the guests attentively. I hope management rewards him well. The staff the next day were friendly too. Sabahan, you should come at least once.

I regret staying here. The room was stinky and damp, and the pool villa was poorly maintained. The floor, walls, curtains, bathroom sink, and toilet were stained, and there was algae in the pool. The bed moved around easily. Please clean the room properly. There was so much chlorine in the pool that I felt dizzy after swimming for 30 minutes. RM500 wasted, and it was expensive for what you get.
