SPOT ON 89751 Bed Station Guest House - Hostel

The receptionist was helpful, the location was okay, and the price was reasonable. But the bathroom and shower are shared in one room, and people use soap while bathing, which leaves the floor super slippery. Please be careful. There's no microwave or room service either. I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying, but with just 10-15 RM extra you could get a much better room in the heart of Tanah Rata.

We really wanted to like this place. The receptionist was helpful and the location was good, but those were the only positives. The room was dirty, damp, visibly mouldy, and smelled disgusting. It was infested with fleas. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything. The communal area bin was full of maggots, and the toilets weren't cleaned regularly. I know it's cheap, but it shouldn't be a health hazard.

The location is pretty good and the man working there was nice, but the smell in the rooms was so bad that my girlfriend and I couldn't stay. The sheets didn't look clean either. It's a shame because the hotel itself is nice, with trendy pictures on the walls and a fairly modern feel. They really need to sort out the room smell.

This is a budget hostel that should suit backpackers and adventurous travelers. The reception area was clean and had some basic things for preparing food and hot drinks, though you have to bring your own ingredients despite the website saying tea and coffee are available. Our room was relatively clean and tidy, but had an unpleasant smell that I hope they'll address. I also want to thank the receptionist, who was very kind and helpful.
