Résidence Marina Beach

We spent 8 nights at Marina Beach Residence, a lovely place within easy walking distance of the beach, a supermarket, and a bus stop. Nicolas, the host, was very helpful and did everything he could to make our stay comfortable. I’d stay there again.

The location is excellent, with cafes, restaurants, and lovely beaches all within walking distance. Staff were very helpful, which made up for some shortcomings in the room. The building is old and tired, though we understand renovations are under way. We went on a budget, and you get what you pay for. It was noisy, and some guests weren’t considerate of others. After 2 nights on the first floor, we asked to move to a room with a balcony because ours was dark and stuffy, with nowhere to hang towels. The staff arranged it without any fuss, which we appreciated. The new room was brighter and had good airflow. It’s close to nightclubs and can be very noisy, but it’s adequate if all you need is a comfortable bed and hot shower.

Beaches and shops are within walking distance. The manager was very friendly, informative, helpful, and supportive.

Baie des Citrons and a shopping centre are close enough to reach on foot, and there’s a bus stop just 20 metres from the hotel. The price makes it easy to recommend. The kitchen could use a tea towel and detergent, but otherwise everything was fine. I didn’t need the air conditioning, since there was always a nice breeze, and the electric shutters felt reassuring at night.
