We spent four days at Pestana. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the restaurant: dinner was good and nicely presented, while breakfast was delicious and varied. The neighborhood was quiet after a day in the city center, and the hotel is charming and well located. There were two frustrating issues, though. We didn’t get the deluxe double room we had reserved, and only after our second complaint were we offered a room of a similar standard. Also, Booking.com advertised German-speaking service, but the hotel didn’t speak German, which was a real inconvenience for guests with limited English. The hotel didn’t offer any compensation. We left with a very good impression overall, but also an unpleasant aftertaste. Best wishes to the whole Pastana team.

I was glad I chose this hotel. The building looks very historic outside, while the inside is modern, and there are plenty of facilities on site. The staff were professional, efficient and welcoming. We had a great experience and really enjoyed our stay. I’d choose this hotel again next time I’m in Amsterdam.

We booked a few nights and had a great stay. The hotel is just outside the city, but it’s easy to get to, and the staff and service were fantastic. We were celebrating a birthday, and the room add-ons and packages were a lovely personal touch. The spa, bar and food were all amazing. I’d highly recommend staying here, and we’ll be back.

For a five-star hotel, this was terrible. We paid for an upgrade and were put in a room at the back by a bar, with noise all night and construction going on all morning. The staff didn’t seem to care. The supervisor showed no regard for the situation and wouldn’t offer anything, then rudely asked if there was anything else they could do to assist. There were plenty of spare rooms that night and the hotel wasn’t full, but they still wouldn’t help. This doesn’t feel like a five-star hotel at all.

The only small frustration was the lift. It always seemed to be in use, often by staff, and we could get on it only once during our three-day stay. The room was clean, modern and had good facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had a question or needed something. We’ll stay again next time we visit.
