We had a canal view from our room and a little balcony with a table and two chairs. It was a lovely place for morning coffee while watching the boats go by. The bathroom was large and updated, and the location was just right, with an easy walk or tram ride to the center and museums. Paula was very helpful and gave us a map and a quick introduction to the city. We had her number in case we needed to call or text, and the concierge app offered restaurant ideas and help navigating around. We’d definitely stay at the Tulipa again on our next Amsterdam trip.

Our host was friendly, informative, and wonderful. The suite had a canal view and was made up of two connected rooms plus an alcove. The front room was large, with a king bed, bathroom, round table that seats four, and a sitting area with a window seat that opens over the street and canal. We loved that. The second large room also had a big bed and sitting area, while the alcove looked onto the back courtyard through large windows and had a small fridge. It’s easy to walk to Vondelpark, Van Gogh, and Rijksmuseum, and a short tram ride gets you to anne frank house, palace, de wallen, and more. The hot dog cart across from the information center at the north end of vondelpark is especially worth trying, delicious and cheap.

Tulipa 75 Leidsekade B+B serves the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I love cooking and can be particular about food, so that really impressed me. The accommodations were spacious, clean, comfortable, and romantic, and Paula and Jan were caring, efficient hosts. I’ve spent part of my 60-something years traveling, and I love this location. The apartment sits above the meeting point of two canals, around the corner from The Amsterdam American Hotel, and just down the street from the Rijk and Van Gogh Museums. Amsterdam has so much to see, and I can’t say enough about being so well located. Keukenhof is one of Europe’s top places to visit, and it’s just a relaxing bus ride from Central Station. I love Amsterdam, and this is one of the best placed stays we’ve had in Europe, comparable to our recent visits to Paris, Rome, and Florence. Loved the people too. The bicycle riders can be a bit aggressive.

The room was huge and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. The owner also shared loads of information about local restaurants and places to visit.

Comfortable beds, large rooms, and a bathroom with good space.
