Hotel Parkzicht Eindhoven

The price was okay, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Reception was open 24/7, breakfast was offered, and I stayed in an apartment. When I reported that some of the electricity wasn’t working, it was fixed right away, which I appreciated. But I was told not to switch on all the lights at once, so we had to limit our use and worry about another power outage. The main room and bathroom were cold. They provided an extra electric heater, but it barely helped. Wi-Fi was around 3 Mbps, which is very poor for a hotel in this category. The bathroom looked nice, but there was visible mold in the shower that could have been removed with basic cleaning products. One of the lights also didn’t work. Parking was available in a paid public area, something that should be clearly stated. The apartment had carpet, which I dislike and consider unhygienic because I doubt it gets thoroughly cleaned regularly. The walls were thin and noise from neighboring rooms carried through clearly. The photos made the apartment look great, but it felt outdated in person and didn’t meet expectations for a 4-star property. Overall comfort was disappointing.

The staff really cared about making our stay comfortable. The room was small but well organized, and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was great and roomy enough for my tall spouse. We saw families, older travelers, and business travelers staying there too. It felt like visiting friends or being at home. Each evening we relaxed in our room, then had a whiskey and a glass of wine at the lovely bar on the main floor. The dessert menu was excellent, and the dishes were tasty. Breakfast was just steps away, and the coffee was excellent too. Parking is public and paid from 9 am to 9 pm. It cost €9 a day when we stayed. We enjoyed the hotel a lot and highly recommend it.

The staff were lovely, and the bathroom had a good shower. The room was clean and came with the usual things, including a coffee and tea set, TV, and hairdryer. But there was only one comfortable chair and no small table, and the desk was awkwardly placed behind the bathroom door. We also missed having hooks or bars to hang towels to dry. There was one, but it was inside the shower. The hygiene bag holder was empty in our room and in two of our friends’ rooms. No small fridge or safe either, which we’d expect in a 4-star hotel. We liked the hotel, but the room won’t be worth the much higher price next year. We understand the tax is rising from 9% to 21%, but that doesn’t explain the increase from €328 to almost €600 for just two nights without breakfast.
