Alibi Hostel Leeuwarden

You can get what you need here, from breakfast and showers to bike rental at very affordable prices. The staff are really helpful, and the location works well for visiting Leeuwarden. If hotel-room luxuries you don’t need aren’t your thing, this is the best place in the city for you.

Everything was spotless, which hasn’t been true of every hostel I’ve stayed in. My bed and pillow were comfortable, and the bathroom and showers are separate. With four shower stalls, you’re unlikely to have to wait. The train station and lots of other places are within an easy walk. I normally don’t stay in hostels anymore, but the positive reviews convinced me to try Alibi Hostel, and I wasn’t disappointed. Wonderful Ellan spoke perfect English and explained everything at check-in. I was lucky that my room was ready early. It felt like very good value, and I’d happily stay there again. Thanks, Ellan and Alibi team, for being so lovely!

Thanks for a really interesting stay and great customer support!

Breakfast was good, though I would have liked more choices. The place is close to the centrum, and little entrepreneur-run shops on the ground floor sell gifts. Everything was clean and orderly, including the showers and toilets, and they don’t overdo the prison theme. You really can sleep in cells, with a modern, secure RFID key system for entry. It’s in great condition, one of the nicest hostels I’ve visited, and has more of a hotel feel.
