The room and the service were good during my stay from 4-6 April, but I'd been overcharged a lot in convenience fees by other rental services taken through this hotel. I wrote about that in a Booking.com review. When we returned on 12th April to stay for a few hours between flights, the owner asked to see the review in my app. I showed him without thinking, and he grabbed my phone and deleted it. I was shocked. He didn't even apologize, saying it had affected his ratings. I think the owner should be punished for doing this.

The guest house is in a fantastic spot in Thamel, and the price is great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice. The rooms are basic, but for the location and cost they're good, especially for backpackers or anyone who just needs somewhere to sleep. Don't expect luxury. There are lovely outdoor seating areas, and I'd definitely stay again.

The dorm was fairly clean and about what you'd expect for the price. I liked how quiet the hostel was, tucked into Thamel so well that you could forget the busy area outside. The people were amazing: when I got sick, they made me rice and tea, and they let me relax in the common area while I waited for my jeep. Breakfast was good too. They also kept my bag while I was away trekking for a month.

I had a great three-night stay and would happily come back. The owner and staff were really nice and helpful, and playing with the two dogs was so much fun. My room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Even though the hotel is in a busy area, it was very quiet at night and I slept really well.

The location is good, with plenty of eateries nearby, and there is motorcycle parking. The staff are friendly. I can only speak for the dorms, not the private rooms, and the dorm amenities felt neglected. The cheap price showed in the quality of the stay. My four-bed dorm had no fan, though it was cool at night, and the power socket beside my bed didn't work. The geyser wasn't working properly, and even after staff told me to wait, the water never got warm. The showerhead was broken, so I had to use a questionable bucket that could have been mistaken for a trash bin. The dorms are on the roof, with no cover between the room and the shared washroom. It rained on my last night, and I couldn't stay dry going to the bathroom. After another guest checked out, I didn't see the sheet changed for two days before someone new used that bed. On my last morning there was an unpleasant surprise in the shared toilet. That was the final straw, so I changed hostels. I missed having warm showers.
