Dormitory Nepal has a calm, Buddhist retreat kind of feel. It’s in a residential area, so it offered a welcome break from the hectic, noisy, smoggy city. The staff are generous and open, and they’ll make coffee or tea whenever you ask. They also get the traditional Nepalese Dal Bhat just right. I’d spent three months looking for an apartment and found this dormitory. Since I booked for three months, they gave me a really fair price. They helped me out with unusual loans, even an electric guitar, and took care of every request right away. I had interesting conversations with them about history, politics, trekking, and other trips around the country. Warm friendships developed during my stay, and they lasted after I left. I highly recommend Dormitory Nepal.

I booked just two nights and ended up staying five. Govinda organized day trips for me every day, so I could get the most out of Kathmandu, and I’ll return when I’m back in the city. As a solo traveler, I need to feel safe and comfortable around kind people. It was a quiet time at the hostel, so I spent time with the staff or explored with Govinda. From booking until I left, Govinda and his lovely team looked after me so well that I didn’t have to think about anything. I don’t usually tip as a poor traveller, but I couldn’t leave without giving Govinda one. The final bill felt far too cheap for the experience, almost unfair. Don’t hesitate to book this place.

Their budget trekking company helped me have an adventure I’ll always remember, an 18 day trek to everest base camp. They really care about what they do. The place is just outside Kathmandu’s tourist bustle, and the welcoming staff make it feel like home. I owe them a lot and hope whoever’s reading this thinks it’s the best. Make sure you get here.

We arrived on 05th April 2019 and are leaving for India today, 11th April 2019. Our team came to Kathmandu for a Rifle Shooting Seminar. We’d planned to stay here for four days, then move to a 4star hotel, but after those four days every player wanted to remain at dormitory Nepal. We all loved our pleasant stay and the humble, polite staff. The beds and rooms were clean, the building was nice, and above all, it felt totally safe. I really appreciate Dormitory Nepal for the nice, polite way we were treated. I love it, and thank you for the pleasant stay. May god bless you with more success. P.
