The service is what made Dwarika’s Hotel feel so special. Everyone was warm, attentive, and caring in a way that felt natural, never scripted. From arrival onward, everything seemed thoughtful and calm. The hotel itself is beautiful, with elegant, comfortable rooms and a peaceful yet inspiring atmosphere. Staying here felt meaningful, not simply luxurious. The architecture and craftsmanship are extraordinary, with details that reflect Nepal’s cultural history and soul. Wandering through the courtyards feels like stepping into another world. To me, Dwarika’s is living heritage as much as a place to stay, a cultural and emotional experience in Kathmandu. I’d return without hesitation.

The staff made a stressful travel situation much easier. We had unexpected issues while moving around Nepal and needed to change our dates. Even though we’d booked through a third party, the team sorted it out without any fuss and were incredibly accommodating. We felt safe as soon as we arrived, too, with visible security at the entrance. The Dwarika’s is beautiful from the street, with striking architecture and an old-school colonial feel throughout. Our room was comfortable and lovely, with a real sense of Nepal. It’s a grand hotel with character and warm, world-class service. We’d happily recommend it and stay again when we return to Kathmandu.

The hotel itself became a memorable part of my trip. Its traditional design and distinctive wood carvings bring Kathmandu’s cultural atmosphere indoors, so returning after an excursion felt just as meaningful as going out to explore. From the moment I arrived, I felt at ease. The staff were professional and warm, in a way that reflects the spirit of Nepal. The architecture is unique, and for anyone wanting to experience Kathmandu’s character in their accommodation as well as around the city, I can’t think of a better choice.

The courtyard and pool area were a real treat, with several buildings around the property housing restaurants and individual shops. Even though the hotel sits in the center of town, close to the airport, you don’t hear the outside noise once you’re inside. We spent three nights here during a festival and got to see the celebration of the dogs. The place feels closely connected to the community, and its history and heritage work help preserve centuries-old architectural forms and wood-carving techniques. Food was a big part of the stay. The international restaurant is where the breakfast buffet is served, and you can order eggs too. Definitely try the French toast. It was the best we’ve ever had, thick but still fluffy, with outstanding local fruit jam. There’s also a Japanese-themed restaurant and a fine-dining set-menu experience focused on local Nepali cuisine. It has hosted the United States president and famous actors and actresses over the years. Menus range from six to 22 courses. We chose six, and it was plenty. We could barely finish dessert. This is absolutely the best place to stay in Kathmandu. You won’t regret booking here, but you might regret it if you don’t.

The room was beautiful and comfortable, the food was really good, and the staff were attentive and kind. The hotel feels like a jewel in the city, almost a work of art. I love that its purpose includes preserving the cultural heritage.
