A lovely place to enjoy a peaceful setting surrounded by nature.

I've stayed at Hattiban Resort before and had good experiences, which made this visit all the more disappointing. The food was uneven: the first night's dinner was stale and below expectations, though breakfast the next morning was fine. The room needs renovation, maintenance fell short, and a bathroom door lock that wasn't working properly caused needless trouble. Staff were inattentive and sometimes seemed rude, unlike on earlier visits when service was a strength. I hope management takes this seriously. With renovation, better staff training, and more consistent food quality control, the resort could get back to the standard it used to have.
The views and ambience are nice, and the location is good. We stopped for food after a short hike, not to stay overnight. We had haaka noodles and biryani. The biryani was like oily, tasteless fried rice, and the food was poor even at half the price. I wouldn't return unless the food improves.
The view and garden were really good, including the small, fairly private garden off the balcony room. The breakfast and dinner included in the room price were decent in taste, but restaurant food was overpriced. For what the resort charges, the room was a letdown: no hot water or TV, limited amenities, and a broken wardrobe handle. There was dust and spiderwebs inside the wardrobe, while the floors and carpets still had dust and insect debris despite being said to have been cleaned after the previous guests checked out. The bathroom wasn't clean enough either, and the white shower curtain was brown along the bottom with lots of mold. Apart from the scenery and garden, the resort needs to improve its services to match its prices.
Set among pine trees, Hattiban Resort offers fresh air, scenic walks, and nearby hiking such as the Champadevi trail. The views stretch across the Kathmandu Valley and Himalayas, and it's a peaceful escape from the city for nature lovers. It's outside Kathmandu near Pharping and Dakshinkali. The resort has cozy rooms with balconies, a restaurant serving local and international food, a coffee shop, and outdoor areas for relaxing or picnics. Most visitors like the atmosphere and views, though some say the roads and certain facilities could be better. A scenic, relaxing getaway close to Kathmandu.
