Hotel Black Diamond

Unicorn Restaurant is conveniently close to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, and our vegetarian thali made for a filling meal after travel. It came with steamed rice, dal, curry or gravy, fresh vegetables, papad, pickle, and sides. The flavours were simple and comforting, and the portions were generous. They refilled the rice, dal, and gravy without an extra charge, which made the welcome feel especially warm and added good value. We didn't feel rushed or overcharged. The restaurant is worth considering for vegetarian food near Kathmandu airport, an authentic veg thali, or a family meal near Tribhuvan airport. The food and location are convenient, and the refill policy is a nice touch. Rating: 4.5/5.

We felt very comfortable here. The hotel is in an excellent location, useful for more than just air passengers, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was absolutely clean and had all the amenities. Breakfast was good, with a good choice of food. Thanks to all the employees.

The room was noisy because it faced the street, so I couldn't rest well. It was dirty too, and I had to sleep with clothes covering my whole body. I still got a bite on my ankle, though I don't know what caused it. The booking clearly said airport pickup and drop-off were included. At first I couldn't reach the hotel, and when I finally did, they said I had to pay. The person even asked, with an attitude, “Do you know where the hotel is? You can walk.” The domestic terminal is quite far to walk with heavy luggage. I paid extra to include breakfast, but it wasn't a buffet. You had to order, and the portions were so small that even a slight-eating girl didn't get full. Everything was deep-fried and dripping with oil, far too heavy for early morning. Coffee was only Nestle coffee, and a latte cost extra.

I was disappointed by the lack of basic hygiene and accountability at Hotel Black Diamond, Kathmandu. The room had spider webs everywhere, and the bathroom was poorly cleaned and unhygienic, which made the stay uncomfortable. Breakfast was the worst part. The eggs I was served were full of fungus, a serious health hazard and completely unacceptable. When I brought up these problems, the staff took no responsibility. They didn't apologize or fix anything, and instead acted arrogant and unprofessional. I would strongly not recommend this hotel.
