The neighborhood has lots of quiet local streets with little grocery stores, fruit and veg shops, tailors, and small eateries. It offered more than we expected from what you can see on google. Our bedroom and lounge were very comfortable, and Raj was friendly and helpful, explaining the surrounding area in detail. We had stayed in two other parts of Kathmandu before this, so staying near Monkey Temple added another part to our experience. I’d recommend this location to anyone wanting to be near the temple.

We originally booked 15 nights, then the riots and curfews in Kathmandu meant we ended up staying for two months. We were glad to have so much space to relax, and enjoyed sitting on the patio beside the small mini garden. Our daughter had fun playing with the host’s two friendly, eccentric children of the same age. The ground floor apartment is delightful and spacious, and the photos hardly do it justice. It’s excellent value for money. The nearby bazaar has shops for essentials, though there aren’t many restaurants. Swayambunath is an easy half-hour walk away. It’s a magical place to visit early in the morning or in the evening, when it’s less crowded. Raj and Rupa were helpful hosts and kept us up to date on political developments and the border situation. Things have settled down in this great country now. We’ll stay with Raj again when we visit Swyambhunath temple and the forest reserve to its north.

Raj and his famies were very kind and quick to respond whenever we needed them. The apartment, Sweet Dream Apartment, was very clean, and we felt comfortable there. We’ll gladly come back.

Raj was friendly and extremely responsive. The quiet street was a real plus, and the apartment was as pictured. We found the excellent cooking appliances and utensils useful. I’d highly recommend the large Sweet Dream Apartment if you’re looking for a decent price.
