The location made it easy to get around, with Boudha Stupa and several monasteries a comfortable walk away. I had a nice room, reliably hot water, and a good breakfast, and the service was great for a reasonable price. There’s also a meditation room upstairs if you’d like to use it.

The staff were friendly and quick to help, and the place was clean and beautiful. Boudha Stupa and plenty of popular shops are only a short walk away. I stayed from April 4th to 18th and found it a very comfortable, pleasant visit. Highly recommended.

The street noise was the main thing that got in the way of feeling at ease. Inside, though, my room was attractive, clean, and comfortable, and the atmosphere felt calm and safe. I had a room from 4/6 to 4/17. The technology wasn't top of the line.

The weather was quite cold, so having an AC/Heater in the room mattered. I stayed at the Butsugen Hotel for almost a month and was very happy with the comfort, included breakfast, and especially friendly service. I highly recommend Butsugen Hotel.

I haven't stayed in a room here, but the hotel is well run and upscale, with an interior that looks practically European. The staff seem well trained and mannerly, the cappuccino is excellent, and service in the large dining room was good. With the neighboring Hyatt behemoth temporarily gone, this is a comfortable alternative or regular choice, just 3-5 minutes on foot from Boudha Stupa. There's also a small Tibetan Buddhist gumpa or temple on the upper storey that's open to the public.
