Hotel Woodland Kathmandu

The pool was clean and refreshing, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. I stayed at Hotel Woodland Kathmandu for a business meeting, and the setting and food were both enjoyable. There was some noise from a nearby club at night, which bothered me a bit, but the hotel was comfortable and well kept. It’s handy for meetings or a short stay, and I’d consider returning.

Please remind your employees to speak politely. One security guard was actually shouting and scolding a customer while helping them navigate the cramped parking area. Even if security is outsourced, this is still a hospitality business.

The pool looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. It was slippery and had algae, and the shower and locker area was just as unpleasant. The showerheads were green with oxidation, and really everything needed scrubbing. After swimming, my hair felt sticky, so I asked the front desk for a bar of soap to clean up quickly. They said they couldn’t provide one. It’s a hotel, so I was surprised they had no soap for a customer. I definitely won’t go back. You can get much better service elsewhere for your money.

The staff have been very polite, and the location seems good, but I arrived exhausted and needed to rest before a meeting and several work days. I couldn’t find anything to eat that would settle my stomach, so I ordered through an app and was told I had to pick it up at reception. The AC was leaking, and there was no tea to unwind with, only breakfast-type tea. From about 1pm until 3pm, someone kept drilling and hammering, so I couldn’t sleep or rest. I called, and a staff member came to apologize and said it would stop soon, but more than an hour later I could still hear a little of it. I’m tense because time is passing and I haven’t rested. Sleep matters a lot for my work performance. I hope the noise is over soon and there won’t be more disturbance tonight, so I can get back early from the meeting. The hotel is okay otherwise. I thought it was a 4-star place, though from what I’ve seen it feels more like 3 stars. I’ll change my review after spending more time here.
