I felt really disrespected by the way they responded, especially one Indian guy. The staff were so rude and the service was literally the worst. Please be patient and respectful.

I chose the more affordable front building for my long stay. It’s nearer the main road and can be noisy, and its older rooms have poorer conditions, but I’m not very sensitive to noise. The back building sits in a quieter courtyard garden and has newer, better facilities, though it costs more. You can look at room and bathroom photos to see the details. The two buildings have different operating times. I’m particular about places I stay. At other hotels, I’ve run into issues like no hot water around the clock, bad bedding, stuffy and hot rooms, strong renovation smells, poor hygiene, or mediocre service. Here, the owner Kiran Malakar is kind and welcoming, and the staff care about how I’m doing and chat with me. While I was writing this recommendation, they were making tea and offered me a cup, which is how we ended up in the final photo, toasting. The hotel was opened by a local Nepali in April 1994 and has been operating for 30 years. I recently got a long-term stay card here. The old building has wide, spacious rooms that are being maintained, while the new building has clean rooms. Rates vary depending on the room and service, and there’s underground parking. Mr. kiran, Dipen, and the management team are great. It’s a great hotel in Thamel, and it feels like my second home in Kathmandu. Whenever I go there, I stay here.

The hygiene was poor, and the service had no hospitality at all. They even charged us over lipstick marks on a towel, which was ridiculous. Why provide a towel and then charge extra for using it? The management was super rude and didn’t know how to speak to guests. They just seemed to want money for everything. We chose this hotel because it was listed as 3-star and expected that level of service, but personally, I don’t think it deserves any stars. What a disgrace for a hotel. I’m not surprised it’s empty.
