Hotel Le Himalaya by Best Resort Nepal

The clean rooms and good location couldn’t make up for the terrible service. I stayed four nights with a group of 12 across five rooms, and the F&B team seemed completely lost, with no basic hospitality or coordination with the front desk. Even after several reminders, they forgot the children’s food requests. They wouldn’t make a boiled egg for my two-year-old, even though I was willing to pay, because they had no eggs. That came after three reminders to both F&B and front office. They also cancelled the dinner buffet we’d paid for and replaced it with thali, then charged extra for the child’s dal kichhdi, something usually complimentary at standard hotels. I wouldn’t recommend this for a Kathmandu holiday unless you want your mood spoiled and to leave feeling agitated.

As a regular corporate client of IME Hospitality, I was very disappointed with this stay. My requested extra bed hadn’t been arranged because they said no staff were available, so at midnight we had to take two rooms. In the morning, they refused breakfast at 10:30 a.m. without any flexibility, although we’d told them in advance. They also wouldn’t arrange a meeting with the manager. The lack of hospitality and customer care was serious. I can’t recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed here several times and do business with IME Hospitality, but this visit was very poor. I’d booked for three people and asked for an extra bed. When we arrived, they said there was no staff available to set it up and told us to take two rooms instead. It was already midnight with no other option, so I agreed. We’d phoned ahead to say we’d arrive around 10:00 a.m. and were only a little late, but when we asked for breakfast at about 10:30 the next morning, they said service had closed. The unprofessional service means I wouldn’t recommend the place.

Plenty of parking, and the place feels elegant and clean. I loved the food, ambience, and service. The staff were all really friendly and helpful.
