I had a pleasant two-night stay at Hotel Simal. It's a comfortable, quiet base near Thamel, set back on a calmer street but still within a short walk of the main shops and restaurants. I'd certainly recommend it if you're looking for somewhere peaceful in the area.

I've been staying at hotel Simal for a long time, and it's become one of my favorites. The rooftop has a lovely city view, and breakfast is amazing. The staff are polite and friendly, with great hospitality. Highly recommended.

I stayed here before and after trekking and found it comfortable, with a good breakfast selection and a location near Thamel. The one issue we had was that the hot shower's water pressure was too high. Apart from that, it was a really good stay.

The complimentary breakfast was good, especially on the rooftop. Eating there in the soft morning light with the mountains in view felt amazing. The hotel is in a prime Kathmandu location, with a nice interior, clean washroom, and a pleasant balcony. I enjoyed my two nights and would highly recommend it.
