Nepali Ghar Hotel, Thamel – Your Home in Nepal

Nepali Ghar felt like a home away from home, with a warm, beautiful atmosphere and staff who were friendly and attentive throughout. The rooms, service, and overall experience were all excellent. I’d gladly stay here again. If you want a comfortable place with genuine hospitality, I’d happily recommend it.

After nearly a week here, I had a great time. The staff were attentive and helpful, and my room was spacious, clean, and a lovely place to return to after exploring KTM. Great value for money, too.

We booked Nepali Ghar for one night because Aloft was full, then liked it so much that we canceled the rest of our Aloft reservation and stayed the whole week. The rooms were clean and well maintained, with plenty of space and beds as comfortable as those in high-end Western hotels. It’s a traditional boutique hotel in Thamel, but has the comfort and amenities of a Western hotel. The staff were wonderful, especially the manager, Sujan Tandukar. His kindness, professionalism, and hospitality made us feel at home, and he went out of his way to make our stay a good one. We’d definitely return and recommend Hotel Nepali Ghar to anyone looking for a comfortable, authentic stay in Thamel.

We stayed four nights, at both the start and end of our trek. The à la carte menu was a highlight, and the staff, food, and rooms were all first rate. We also appreciated being allowed a late checkout and access to the upstairs lounge before our late flight. At night, sitting by the fire with a drink at the bar was especially nice. Highly recommended.
