Classic Nepal Hotel

Really good hotel in the best area of Kathmandu. The beds are very comfortable, and the shower has nice hot water. Breakfast is free and tasty, and the staff were super helpful when my friends needed to print a visa for India. We’re pleased with the stay and will definitely come back next trip.

The welcome was so warm that the place felt like home right away. When we arrived, they handed over the room key, showed us straight to our room, and brought welcome drinks. There was no booking fuss, and they even told us we could pay later. I was genuinely surprised, since in all my travels in different countries I've never had a hotel let a guest stay before sorting out payment. Their kindness and service made me really happy. I'd recommend them to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

The location worked well, and breakfast was still enjoyable with a few choices even though the cook was away. We spent more than 9 days here and had a very good stay. It’s good value, with a pleasant lobby, excellent staff, and an efficient manager. Two brothers own and run the hotel. During the festival they were a bit short-staffed, but things went smoothly as long as we were patient. If other guests aren't too noisy, you'll have an excellent stay.

The rooftop view over Kathmandu was spectacular. We had woken around 2pm, and the highest room in the building put us up high enough to enjoy it. The hotel seems to have one of the city's highest rooftops. We'd arranged an airport pickup with the owner just a day ahead, and although the place was nearly full, they found us its last available room for the night so we could rest after a long flight. It was clean and good, with a warm shower and veeeeery comfortable beds. The staff were genuine, helpful, and spoke very fluent English. Even with new guests arriving that evening, they didn't rush checkout. We could pack, leave our bags in a safe room downstairs for the rest of the day, and go look for somewhere else. We couldn't have had a better welcome to Nepal.
