My room had enough space and a balcony with a decent view of the stone water stepwell. The staff were welcoming and kind, always smiling. Great spot right beside Thamel Marg, though some of the sockets weren’t working.

The decor feels modern and welcoming, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It’s a perfect base for exploring the city, yet it stays surprisingly quiet at night.

Great spot, nice people, and really good service. Arith at reception was especially kind, helpful, and honest. Try meeting him, he’s a wonderful guy.

The owner was welcoming and kind 👍, but the stay had too many problems for me to recommend this hotel. There was no lift to the fifth floor, and although staff said they’d carry our bags, they refused at first. When someone eventually did, he was extremely rude. None of the sockets worked properly either, so I had to use a power strip to charge my MacBook. They also asked for an extra 500 NPR just to hand over the AC remote. I’d spend my money somewhere else.

Thamel Home is a comfortable place to come back to after exploring the shops and eateries nearby. The rooms are spacious, well equipped, and inviting, and the property is impressively clean and hygienic. The food tastes good, too. The staff and facilities add a lot to the stay, and I’ve found it memorable on more than one visit. Its location in the heart of Thamel makes getting around easy. I highly recommend it for a comfortable stay in Kathmandu.
