Pam and Doug, the caretakers, were gems, really friendly and easy to talk to. Doug knows a lot about local fishing and was well versed in Māori pronunciation. The place itself is stunning, picture perfect, with a view straight to the water from the front door. It was super clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything we needed was there, including plenty of coffee and sugar. I booked two days, but if I'd known what I was walking into, I would've booked at least a week. Oh my God!

We were there for two nights at the end of February 2025, and the ground floor Treasure Trove apartment exceeded our expectations. That spectacular view made us wish we'd booked a longer stay, and we appreciated having a guest laundry. The one small gripe was having to strip the bed before leaving. In six weeks of touring New Zealand and staying in similar places, that was the only time we had to do it.

Pam and family, thank you. The service was friendly, and the host just popped by to say hello before leaving us to enjoy the weekend. The little apartment was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Four adults fit comfortably, and the beach was only a stone's throw away. Those views were amazing. We'd happily recommend it and will definitely come back.

The view is breathtaking, and the rooms were clean and tidy. During my recent stay, I found everything we needed, from a coffee plunger to a Nutribullet for smoothies. The lodge caretakers were very friendly, and the owners got back to us quickly whenever we needed them. One of the best places to stay in Ahipara. So happy with it, I'll definitely be back. Thank you!
