Cranford Cottages And Motel

Cranford Cottages has become our regular stop when we travel between the lower south and Marlborough with our dog. The cottages are enclosed, with space for the dog to sniff around, and there’s a lovely nearby park for walks. Rebecca is friendly and easy to talk to, and has the cottage ready whenever we arrive. In cold weather she even switches on the heating beforehand. There’s a supermarket close by and a good range of places to eat within walking distance. A great pet-friendly motel.

We’ve stayed here twice for two weeks at a time within three months, so we’re clearly happy with the place. The quiet, safe cottages are well located, which matters when we’re travelling with our dog. Rebecca and Rodney are fun, friendly people who go out of their way to accommodate us. Cottage 9 was tidy and had everything we needed for one night. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. It was also much quieter than expected given the busy road nearby. We booked mainly because the place welcomes dogs and was close to the people we were visiting. The owners were warm and helpful. I’d stay again, though next time I’d choose Cottage 7 or 8 because those are fully fenced for dogs.

Rebecca was so welcoming and helpful, and nothing felt like a bother. I had everything I needed to cook, slept well in the comfortable bed, and found the cottage peaceful at night. When it got cold, the heat pump kept it cozy, and the shower was great too. Fresh choice is just a few minutes away on foot, with Origins Coffee shop a short walk in the other direction. I can’t fault my stay and would gladly come back.
