The location is great, and I guess the price matched the room's quality. It was very clean, but cheaply finished, with a dark room and a small, very average bathroom. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly, though. I'd give them five stars on their own.

I was in town for work and have stayed in plenty of hotels over the past few years, so I'm hard to please. This one was easily the best. The food was good, including the buffet breakfast, and the service was excellent. It's only a minute from the city centre and river walks. One of the wait staff, I think her name was Rachel, gave outstanding customer service. I'm still looking forward to getting home, but this whole stay makes me want to come back next time I'm here. Great work, everyone.

The staff made the whole stay awesome. From the valet to the front desk, bar, restaurant and room attendants, everyone was friendly, kind and professional, with five-star service throughout. The valet parking was convenient and worth the extra cost for peace of mind about our vehicle. We could walk to all the nearby shopping and amenities. We had the pleasure of staying for two nights. The well-appointed room was immaculate, with a wonderful king-size bed we slept really well in. Breakfast was included in our booking, and the buffet was delicious and ticked all the boxes. The hotel exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely book with ibis tainui again. Nga mihi.

We had Christmas lunch there yesterday, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff had decorated the place beautifully, and the service was 100%. There was a brilliant selection of food for the Christmas theme. Sorry to say, though, the seafood presentation wasn't good. The oysters were frozen, and the mussels and prawns had that cardboard-like texture you get after thawing frozen seafood.
