The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and breakfast was yummy. Everything was immaculately clean and spacious. Butch and Sharon, the owners, were extremely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make us feel at home and help us at every turn. I was sad to leave after enjoying our stay and meeting them so much.

Butch and Sharon are truly amazing hosts, and Amberlea is a fabulous place to stay. Their beautiful house is immaculately clean and as warm and inviting as they are. They picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, and when the weather turned bad, they let us stay on and use the facilities. They really go above and beyond. The cooked breakfast was wonderful, and having biscuits and other things in the shared lounge made it feel more like staying with old friends than at a bnb. So highly recommended. We'll certainly come again when we're in Hokitika.

The rooms were perfect, and we had an incredible breakfast. The hosts were lovely, and their pets were sweet too. This was easily my family's favourite place on our New Zealand trip. I'd highly recommend Amberlea to anyone wanting to stay in Hokitika.

Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Sharon and Butch were lovely hosts, super welcoming and full of helpful suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We'll be back for Coast to Coast at some point, and will make a point of staying with them!

What a great find! It was immaculately clean and well equipped, in a nice quiet area. The beds were super comfy, with plenty of pillows and linen. We stayed just one night but would have been very comfortable staying longer. Highly recommend.
