The food and hospitality were right on point, and the rooms were clean and accommodating. It felt like a welcoming home on a beautiful property, with a great host. I could have spent my whole vacation just visiting this Airbnb. We'll send our daughter here when she visits next year.

Louise was a wonderful host and a great cook, and the views from the beautiful home were lovely. Doolan’s Country Retreat was our favorite place in New Zealand. I only wish we'd had more time there.

Louise is a terrific hostess, serving a lovely breakfast and offering helpful ideas about what to do. The place feels right for a family or a medium-sized group of friends. Inside, it's airy, with windows all around and plenty of room to take in the scenery. There's a wood-burning stove in the main room and plenty of warm linens on the bed. Outside, you drive up a lush, hydrangea-lined driveway, hear the donkey say hello, and then pull up to the house. Best bed and breakfast I've stayed at.

I stayed there back in 2015 and still remember it. The room, garden and views were all awesome. A 10/10 retreat.

The bedrooms are simple and comfortable, the living areas are gorgeous, and the garden is stunning. We loved talking with Louise and the other guests. The setting is great, and both Doolans and Louise are very special. We couldn't have asked for more and can't recommend it highly enough. Thanks for having us!
