I accidentally left the booking for Alpine View Motel unfinished, but they were so kind and went out of their way to make sure we had somewhere to stay. They gave us a mattress to put on the floor in my sister’s room, and everything worked out perfectly. Thank you so much for making my mistake work out! It’s very central, with restaurants within walking distance.

We stopped at Alpine View Motel on the way to Milford Sound. The spacious, comfortable room had heated blankets and everything we needed to make a light dinner or breakfast. I think they also had Netflix and YouTube.

My sister and I stayed overnight and had a lovely time. The room was spacious and really quiet, and the biscuits were a nice touch. The new owners were very friendly.

A nice place to stay. I spent a night here and found it clean, tidy and great. All the equipment worked properly, and it’s near the lake and city centre.

I booked a room listed at around 20 dollars. The following day, I got a message saying the price was incorrect and giving me two choices: cancel the booking myself or pay approximately NZD 225. I understand pricing mistakes happen, but I wasn’t comfortable being asked to cancel for an error that wasn’t mine. The way it was explained left me feeling like I was expected to take responsibility, or like I was trying to exploit the price, which I wasn’t. I contacted Booking.com and was first told the booking should still be honoured. The property held to its position, though, and the booking was eventually cancelled. The process felt inconsistent and cost me time as I looked for other accommodation. I’d suggest confirming the price if it seems unusually low.
