Bush all around made this such a serene place to camp, and the staff were lovely. We stayed in a beautiful little caravan belonging to the holiday park, with a campervan site right next door. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, tidy, and well stocked. I'll definitely be back. Nga mihi nui.

The sound of the river was so relaxing, and I enjoyed swimming in the river pool beside the swimming pool. I had the four-bed female dorm cabin to myself for two wonderful nights. The bunk was comfortable, and the small kitchenette had everything I needed, plus a coffee plunger. The windows had anti mozzi nets, and everything felt thoughtfully set up. I heard birdsong and had quiet, friendly neighbours who kept to themselves. Staff were very helpful, the place was immaculately clean and tidy, and the rubbish bins were well organised. The reception shop had plenty of staple foods, including rolled oats, baked beans, muesli bars, noodles, and milk. Driving in, I could tell this was somewhere unique, with its mining history and surrounding native bush. You can see the care put into running it. It may have had issues in the past, but it's a very different place now. Thanks for a memorable stay. I look forward to coming back. :))

The stream and the chance to be out in nature were a big part of our great family camping trip. I'd been here before and loved it enough to bring my sister and parents. Our caravan site had lots of room, the owners were lovely and good to talk with, and we enjoyed the facilities. Paying $1 for five minutes in the shower worked well because people were quick. Mini golf was a bit wonky, but we laughed and had heaps of fun. It was great seeing families enjoying themselves with plenty to do. The one letdown was the noise from some campers, which had nothing to do with the owners or how they run the business. Late at night, people talked very loudly, walked noisily on the gravel, and cars kept coming and going between 10pm and midnight. One car alarm went off about three times. The place isn't locked at night, so people can pull in and out at any hour, and we had a lot of sleepless nights. Still, we loved our stay and were glad to see the park so busy and thriving. Thanks for having us!

The gentle stream behind our site made everything feel tranquil, and our kids had a blast with the mini golf and playground. We stayed three nights at Dickson Holiday Park just before Christmas, on an unpowered tent site, and had a lovely time surrounded by nature. The place has a peaceful feel and the facilities were clean and well maintained. Hot water in the showers costs $1, or you can shower for free if you don't mind a refreshing start to the day. Having a kitchen, laundry, and washing line was handy. We all swam in the pool, and the games room and TV area were good for winding down and charging our power banks. The dump station was useful, and every staff member we met was genuinely lovely. We'll definitely return.

The stream at the bottom of the park has lovely clear, cool water for a paddle. Town is a 50-minute walk along the coast road. It's a lovely camping park with a tent area and a few very nice bunkrooms, worth the small extra cost over a tent pitch. The owner was helpful and kind. Toilets and showers were clean, and the kitchen and BBQ area had everything you might need. There are also a games room, a TV room, and a pool.
