Centara Muscat Hotel Oman

The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, with large beds and very comfortable mattresses. Housekeeping staff were polite and professional, and I’d definitely recommend the hotel. The location turned out to be very convenient. The undeveloped plots used for parking might look uninviting at first, but within a few hundred meters there are plenty of eateries, restaurants, supermarkets, car-rental agencies, and a couple of currency-exchange offices. Three supermarkets are directly across the road, including a SPAR. For convenience, I found it better placed than many 5-star hotels in Muscat. There are still some drawbacks. The solarium floor needs repair. More concerning, the reception staff didn’t meet the standard I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. I asked a receptionist to call Nakhal Fort to check whether it was possible to visit, since I’d read about refurbishment work online. She replied, “And how do you expect me to find a number to call?” That was unacceptable guest service. On departure day, I’d requested a 2:30 am wake-up call, but it came 10 minutes late, which is risky when catching an early flight.

The room was comfortable and clean, though a little small, and the amenities were satisfactory. Staff were generally polite and efficient, but seemed a bit rushed at times. The common areas are beautifully designed and the hotel is well maintained. It’s still a solid, convenient choice for a comfortable stay.

The therapists were excellent, skilled, and made our couples massage very relaxing and enjoyable. The massage room was clean and nicely prepared. A few things interrupted the calm. We could hear a vacuum cleaner and people talking outside, so some relaxing background music would have helped. Afterward, we had to walk down the hallway in our gowns to another room for a shower. Luckily nobody was there, but it felt uncomfortable since someone could have seen us. Slippers for walking outside the room would have been useful too. Scented candles or a subtle aroma would also improve the spa atmosphere. The massage itself was excellent, and a few small changes to the setting and facilities could make the experience better.

The room was really nice, and the location made my trip easy. There’s an authentic Thai restaurant, plus supermarkets and car-rental shops opposite the hotel. The staff and service were amazing. A warm thank-you to the Reception team, Miss Gloria, Miss Malak, and Mr. Nasser the Duty Manager for their excellent hospitality and welcome. I love everything about the hotel and would definitely recommend it.
