Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah by IHG

The sunsets over the lovely, clean beach were breathtaking, and it felt safe there even when the wind picked up. We had a great holiday, with plenty to enjoy at the pool bar where we often ate lunch. Breakfast had an amazing range, and dinner brought together dishes from different countries. The restaurant looks elegant, though the windows were cloudy, perhaps from the salty air. I also heard the villas are being renovated, and hope the pool area gets an update too. Our family trip last October had a run of bad luck: our baggage went missing, my husband became ill, and my son had an accident on the beach. Those things weren't the hotel's fault, and the staff went out of their way to help us through them. I work in hotels myself, so I know good hospitality when I see it. The reception team were kind, Jamal in housekeeping was always there for us, and Louai, John, and the rest of the restaurant staff helped make our stay so good. Thanks again for the care.

Our villa was enormous, with three bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen, and even a washing machine. The beach and pools were lovely, and all the staff were friendly and polite. The reception team also helped arrange a car rental and made my daughter's birthday special with decorations and a cake. We had a wonderful week here. The only thing we missed was food for children. Most dishes were delicious, but spicy, so a small kids' food corner would have been appreciated. I still recommend Salalah and Oman, such a beautiful country.

The pool could use some attention. The main swimming pool needed repairs, and the surrounding area would be nicer with more shade or planted islands. We spent eight nights at the Crowne Plaza after an organized tour of Oman, and enjoyed taking it easy on the beach and nearby. Thuvan from room service was especially friendly and attentive, and our room was spotless each day. The breakfast and dinner buffets were beautifully presented and good quality. I especially liked the wide selection of salads and starters as a vegetarian. Service and hospitality were of a high standard.

We had a good week here through a travel agency, and the staff were kind and helpful. The food was good, especially the Christmas dinner and brunch. There was some mold in our bathroom, the pool water was cold, and the sand around the sunbeds could have been cleaner.
