Hotel Tierra In

Everything is close by from this central location, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I spent two nights here, and the hotel looked as advertised. My room was clean and spacious, with a portable heater for the cold nights, a mini fridge, and a tea maker with tea bags. The bathroom was clean with fresh towels and toiletries. Breakfast was included, plentiful, and had a good variety. I’d recommend the place.

The room was comfortable and clean, but noise was a real problem. You can hear everything outside as if it’s happening in the room. The reception doubles as a little store, and the music they play early in the morning carries right through. Bring earplugs.

We picked this place for one night before our 6am Machu Picchu tour. The staff were wonderful and even packed us a free breakfast. The hotel itself is modern and clean, and the location worked well for us. At night, the streetlights came through the curtains, so blackout curtains would help. A few shower sprays seemed blocked, though neither issue caused much trouble. The price may seem high beside similar stays elsewhere in Peru, but it seemed in line with other hotels in the area.

The room itself was nice, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The hotel is beside the street and bus station, and there’s no soundproofing. Dogs were barking at 1am and 4am, then buses started at 5am. You’ll need very good earplugs. We’d arranged breakfast for 8am, but when we went up to the 6th floor there was nobody there, just the food. We had to go back down to the ground floor to ask about it.
