We asked them to cancel the reservation, but they refused. I called Booking.com customer service right away, and thankfully they helped and cancelled it without charging me. I've travelled around the world for the past five years and stayed in hundreds of hotels, and nothing like this had happened before. I was very disappointed that they seemed to be taking advantage of me as a tourist. I wouldn't recommend this place. I'd booked a room for three through Booking.com, but when we arrived, they wanted more than the price in my email confirmation. The owner tried to make me feel guilty, saying he needed the money because it was low season.

A nice touch was the included takeaway breakfast they prepare if you're leaving early for Machu Picchu. The check-in staff were pleasant, and we felt the place was well worth what we paid. No real complaints.

The bed was comfortable, the shower had hot water, and we got a decent breakfast to take away since we left for Machu Picchu before the usual breakfast time. We stayed on the last night of our Salkantay trek, and it was a good budget pick. Our room was quite small, though, and the window looked into the corridor. The downstairs lobby stayed loud until late, so we didn't get the early night we'd hoped for.

The Wi-Fi is so awful I can't give this place five stars. It's useless.

We got a breakfast bag to take with us, and the room was clean with its own bathroom. The hot water wasn't working at first, but they fixed it right away. It was a nice room for one night. Our tour included it, so I can't say whether it's normally expensive. There was some noise, but we were up at 4, so it didn't affect our sleep.
