Vista Machu Picchu

I’m writing this at 2:30am after being woken up yet again by other guests. The walls and doors are so thin I can hear someone snoring on the same floor, and door handles turning on other floors. The soundproofing is that bad. The rooms are stuffy, there’s no AC, and opening the windows means diesel fumes from the trains come in. You’re right next to the railway track. They’ve put in secondary glazing, but you can still hear the trains. It’s really bad, I’m afraid.

The train noise is horrible, like trying to sleep in the station. WiFi doesn’t work, and the receptionist doesn’t care. The cell phone network is bad inside this hotel, though it worked fine everywhere else. It’s hard to stay connected.

The breakfast is great, but for $70 for a double room I expected a little more. We asked to check in early, but the receptionist declined and left us waiting in the lobby. I didn’t expect anything more, though an early check-in would have been nice. Our room was right by a ventilation system that was very loud all night. Still, it’s a good place to sleep in Aguas Calientes.

Very noisy! The room only smells of train gasoline, and it’s so loud you can’t hear the person next to you. The hotel is right beside the train station. Don’t book here if you want to rest.
