Retamas Hotel

The lobby and first-floor restaurant were neat, and breakfast came on time with friendly service. The location was convenient, near the plaza, and nights were quiet. Those were the good parts of my three-night stay in Room 404 on the fourth floor. The room itself was dusty and unclean. My wife spent the night with her allergies acting up, and it was only cleaned the following day after I complained. Water pressure was weak, and mosquitoes came into the bathroom at night. The owner's manner and customer service need a lot of work; the cleaning staff were the exception. I had searched for another hotel, but everything was full during Holy Week, peak season, so I couldn't move. I wouldn't come back. There's plenty the hotel needs to improve as a place to stay.

Really close to the main square, and the service was great from our first contact through check-out. A very good choice for Cajamarca carnivals.

The breakfast was bad, they didn't provide what was actually advertised, and we were spoken to abusively. On top of that, the cleaning and reception staff came into our room without knocking and more or less forced us out. They even went into the bathroom while my companion was using it. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Breakfast service was awful. We were kept waiting and treated poorly, there was no juice, and they hadn't brought enough cutlery. When we asked for sugar, they told us they had none.
