Hotel Hacienda Cusco Plaza

The one snag was our room’s interior window, which had no blinds, so light came through all night. Someone in a nearby room also had the TV extremely loud, and we couldn’t get them to turn it down. Otherwise, we had a great stay. The location is really good, the staff are welcoming and professional, and the rooms and facilities are clean. Breakfast was an ample buffet with an omelette station.

The bed was comfy and the location was great, but the breakfast was inedible. The food looked stale, the omelettes were bland and unseasoned, fruit looked old, pastries tasted stale, and there was no orange juice, bacon, or sausages. I didn’t dare try the yoghurt because it looked old too. I’ve included pictures so you can see what I mean. There was a rattling ventilation vent outside our room all night. The frosted windows had no curtains, so hallway light lit up the bedroom whenever it was on. Such a shame, because the place had potential, but they’d need to work hard to address these problems.

The breakfast was excellent and had plenty of variety. It’s a historic house adapted as a hotel, right in the historic center and just steps from the Plaza de Armas. The balcony overlooking Plaza Regocijo is a fantastic bonus.

Our experience was really uncomfortable. We left a bag in the hotel’s storage room, and some personal belongings were taken from it. There’s video surveillance in the room, but after checking the footage, staff said they hadn’t seen anything out of order. We’re leaving without the missing items. Reception says their administration will take over, so they’re washing their hands of it. Great.
