We travel a lot and are usually easygoing about accommodation. We've never left a bad review before, but this was one of our worst hotel experiences. I don't think it's suitable for people who need proper rest after long tours or who are dealing with altitude sickness. We were first told we'd get an upgrade, but the room was right beside the restaurant and very loud. It was also next to the kitchen, where several kittens and litter boxes caused a terrible smell. After 15 minutes we asked to move. The next room was incredibly dirty: the floors and walls hadn't been cleaned, cables were loose and exposed, bathroom tiles were falling off, and the duvet was stained and filthy. The towels were dirty and rough. There was no hot water at the sink, and sockets were hanging out of the walls, so charging anything felt impossible and unsafe. Loud music from reception played all night, and we couldn't rest. We were so disgusted with the room that we tried to stay out of the hotel as much as possible. Breakfast was extremely poor, and I found a cockroach in the room. There was no Wi-Fi in the room either, which made working or even contacting anyone really difficult.

Harry arranged my tours and room after someone I met on my trip in Colombia gave me his number. I started messaging him on WhatsApp about 10 days or less before coming to Cusco. I didn't have much time to research, so I let him handle it. I told him what tours I wanted, he organized everything, and I didn't pay anything in advance. He was responsive throughout, and guides were always there to pick me up or call me. The trip was organized perfectly, and I had a great experience. I stayed at the Mirador. The pictures aren't new, and the place is quite old, but I paid 15$ for a single room with a private bathroom, about what a dorm bed with a shared bathroom costs. The room was okay, neither cold nor hot. The water got hot if I kept the pressure low. It's Cusco, Peru, not Berlin, so you have to adapt. Breakfast was poor, but included, and they cleaned my room while I was away one night in MachuPicchu. I was a bit disappointed at first, but by the end I was totally satisfied. For the price, service gets five stars. Thanks Harry!

The beds were comfortable, the service was good, and the window views were fantastic. San Blas is an excellent location. The place is a bit grubby and run down, but it's an inexpensive stay in Cusco. You get what you pay for.

I tried to discuss my stay with them but got no reply. Later I tried to cancel through Booking, and nobody ever answered there either. Don't bother booking with them. It's not worth it, and there are better options.

The first night was fine, but on each of the next two days we couldn't get a decent shower because the water was shut off. Around 8pm we couldn't even shower or use the bathroom. I brought it up with the owner, who said he'd take care of it, but almost one and a half later it still hadn't been fixed. For $86, I expected better service. I've worked in the hotel industry for five years, so I know how this goes.
