The hotel is three blocks from the plaza, though there are lots of stairs between levels, so keep that in mind if mobility is an issue. My room overlooked a quiet cobblestone alley from a small balcony, and I could control the heater myself. That was a real plus, since at many hotels around the plaza maintenance controls the heat. The bed was heavenly, with high quality cotton bedding, and the hot water was plentiful, which I especially appreciated since showers in Cusco can be hit or miss. Breakfast was just right, ordered ahead and served in the room, dining area, or terrace. The rooms and halls have recessed, lit displays of local art for sale, giving the place a bit of a museum feel. It combines old world storybook charm with all the comforts. The manager was very helpful when I got altitude sickness. I loved this charming place and wish I'd booked more than one night.

Our family of four loved this small hotel and would definitely recommend it. The rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious, and the host communicated really well before and during our stay. They also kept our luggage while we spent four days hiking to Machu Picchu on the Inca Trail. We stayed for a few days both before and after the hike over the Christmas holidays.

I liked the hotel's history and the area it's in, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is customized by ordering it each morning, and at check-in they offered tea to help with adjusting to the altitude and avoiding sickness. The building dates to the 1700s and is amazing, though its age does come with some limitations. Our room was tidy, but the toilet and shower shared a sliding glass door, which wasn't ideal. The other room didn't have that setup. Highly recommend.

Breakfast on the balcony with a view over the city was a real treat. Our early flight meant we asked for breakfast in the room at 5 AM, and it arrived right on time with a smile. We love this place, the people are so friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you, Rumi Wasi 🙏
