Hotel Costa Sol Moquegua

The pool was the one good part. Luckily, it wasn’t crowded with staff. From the moment I arrived with my family member, the hotel staff’s attitude felt awful, and the days there only confirmed that impression. They didn’t seem prepared to deal with tourists at all. We just want a smooth, hassle-free stay, and at the prices this hotel charges I expected service to be efficient. They also didn’t seem ready to make foreign tourists feel comfortable. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. It felt more like a roadside motel on an empty highway.

The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the pool and sauna were a great way to relax. It’s close to the main square, with excellent service and really friendly staff.

The garage is across the street, a long way from the hotel. The hotel itself is on a very narrow street, so even stopping to unload bags can cause a traffic jam. Our rooms were small and noisy, and the bathrooms were cramped and uncomfortable. They only provided one towel for a couple in all the rooms we stayed in, so I had to dry off with a hand towel. Breakfast was basic, and the scrambled eggs were poorly made.

I misread the listing and booked this place by mistake. I thought it was Costa del Sol, so I was shocked when I arrived and found Costa Sol 🤡. The two nights were pretty average. It’s two blocks from the main square and near restaurants. The rooms are modern and have Smart TVs. I saw there was a pool, though I didn’t use it. The heat was the biggest problem. There’s no air conditioning or fan in the rooms, and it gets extremely hot, so you end up opening the windows. It seemed like everyone did that, and I could hear conversations, which made me uncomfortable. Breakfast was very basic and exactly the same each day. The breakfast restaurant is small with few tables, and the tables seat six, so when it’s full you have to share with other people. The reception staff weren’t very friendly, especially one woman. I think the front desk needs people with better social skills. Would I return? I’d think twice. It wouldn’t be my first choice, mainly because the room was so hot and uncomfortable. I could manage the rest.
