The Piccolo Hotel of Boracay

We booked Piccolo Hotel Boracay online for an extra night, wanting one more taste of the island's busy atmosphere after three nights at Movenpick. We weren't expecting much, but its easy-to-reach location won us over. D’Mall is about 100 steps away, with ATMs, grocery shops, McDonald’s, Jollibee, and restaurants at all price levels. The beach takes about two minutes to reach on foot. There's a spa across the way, a coffee shop and Potato Corner downstairs, and a sari-sari store and carinderia next door. That last bit helped when we ran out of shampoo and toothpaste, lol! 😂 Our room was spacious enough for a comfortable night, though it had no balcony. At ₱2,000 including breakfast for two, it felt like good value. Breakfast was just okay, but worth taking since it usually costs ₱390 per person. I'd pick the tapa or tocino. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we had no other problems during the stay. The weak point was WiFi. It wasn't dependable for working from home, and the faster connection was at the ground-floor bar or lobby. We gave it a solid four stars and would return for the value.

We spent 4d3n here after booking through Agoda app. The two pools were clean and pleasant for a relaxing swim. For a quieter dip, try the one beside the restaurant near the elevator. The whole place felt calm and peaceful, good for resting. The location worked well for us, right beside dmall and on the same street as Meze Wrap 😋😋, about a two-minute walk from the beach. Our premier deluxe room on the fifth floor/rooftop would be a good pick if you want peace and space. It was roomy enough for a family or barkada. The rooms were clean and well kept, affordable for what you get, and staff came to make them up quickly. Breakfast was nicely prepared and served plated. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout, especially the front desk and food attendants. Toiletries were provided, but there were no disposable slippers in the room, and the front desk said they don't offer them. We loved it, and my family enjoyed their stay too. I'd recommend it.

We were looking for somewhere near D'Mall and the beachfront, and this location suited us well. The room was spacious and elegant, with a balcony where we enjoyed relaxing in the evenings. Breakfast was complimentary and tasted amazing. Great value for money, with superb rooms and a convenient spot. We'll definitely stay again when we return.

The bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly, the TV remote was dusty, and there were lots of lizard droppings on the balcony. We also found many mosquitoes. The repellent machine the hotel provided was dirty and filled with dead mosquitoes. We accept responsibility for staining the linen with henna, but were charged 4,000 for it. That amount is completely excessive, almost the cost of our whole stay, especially when standard hotel bedsheets have a low purchase price. It feels like a penalty, not a fair replacement fee. Accepting that we caused the stains doesn't mean we should have to pay an abusive amount. The way the hotel dealt with it was unfair and unprofessional, below what I'd expect from a 3-star hotel. We do not recommend this place.
