Discovery Coron

If your main plan is exploring Coron’s lakes, lagoons, restaurants, snorkeling spots, and town, I’d stay in Coron town instead. Discovery Coron makes more sense if you want to relax and disconnect. The island and surrounding nature are stunning, and I hope they keep preserving it. Without that beauty, this would just be another resort. The corals and marine life are wonderful, and the island itself is truly beautiful. The staff genuinely try to make guests feel welcome and comfortable, though more training could lift the experience. There’s room for improvement in the finer details too. Service is good, but not consistently excellent. Towels aren’t always fully replaced after room cleaning, common areas sometimes still have cups, plates, and towels left out, the advertised foot massage wasn’t available, Nespresso capsules are limited per stay compared with most luxury resorts, and occasionally loud music detracts from the atmosphere. I wouldn’t call it a true 5-star resort by international standards, more like a 4-star experience. The rooms are good and rates reasonable for what you get. I’ve seen people say the food is expensive, but portions are generous, and I found the prices fair for an island resort. Food costs less in town, of course, but staying on the island means paying a bit extra for convenience. Sinag Restaurant is good for Filipino food. Breakfast is decent, though it could be better. Tours cost more too, since you still need transfers to the main town.

The breakfast buffet had an impressive range, and the massage services are worth trying. Heated pools made a night swim especially enjoyable. The team were warm and welcoming throughout. Getting there was simple: staff arranged an airport pickup, then a scenic boat ride to the island. On remote Dimakya, the stay felt deeply relaxing, with just enough adventure. Bats, wild birds, and monitor lizards gave the natural surroundings a special charm, and the quiet was so profound that leaving was hard. The gentle waves felt like a calming massage for the mind. A lovely retreat for anyone after peace, comfort, and refined island hospitality.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Discovery Coron, and the thoughtful surprises made the occasion extra special. The room was beautifully set up, which really touched us, and the restaurant gave him a complimentary birthday cake. We appreciated both so much. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and professional, with exceptional service that made us feel right at home. It was a wonderful, unforgettable stay. We’ll cherish the memories and look forward to coming back.

Sandy beaches and jungle are right outside the door, and the nearby sea life, corals, turtles, and different fish, is amazing to see. The private island has a great hotel and service, with big lizards and birds around that were fun to spot. Breakfast and dinner are included, and there are free sun beds plus various games and activities. The gym could use improvement.
