2020 Travelers Inn

The Inn is clean and pleasant, with nice bedding and a good bathroom with both hot and cold water. The shower control is damaged, though, so I had to reach up on my toes to adjust it. It can feel a little cramped for a group, but it’s a nice place to stay and not too far from the center. Watch out for tricycle drivers who kept saying the Inn was far from our destination or starting point, then asking for a higher fare, even though we were local tourists.

It’s an affordable spot in the city center, with a comfortable bed and A/C that worked well. We did have trouble with the door alarm, which kept announcing “locked, unlocked” even after we scanned the key card or locked the door several times. Also, an employee knocked around 7 am and woke me to ask to come into our room for something in the wardrobe, possibly left by the previous guest. I found it odd they weren’t trained to avoid disturbing guests before 8am.

The staff were the real highlight, so kind and sweet. It was a quiet, comfortable stay and easy to get to. I’d happily come back and recommend it. Thank you 🙏

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we waited 30 minutes. They didn’t offer a later checkout to make up for it. Rushing through the cleaning showed: there was a plastic bag and a blood-stained used cotton ball in the cabinet. Maybe the unexpected power outage made for a busy night, but they could have been prepared for that. Service quality shouldn’t suffer. Not a good first experience.
