Pearl Suites

The water was so slow I couldn't take a proper shower. Worst suite in Gensan. Avoid it at all costs. The photos really don't match what you get.

For 500 per person a night, it was decent. There's a hot and cold shower, though the halls are cramped and there's no pool or garden to spend time in. I didn't eat there, but saw people ordering the usual egg and corned beef with rice.

On a tight budget, this works well for backpackers. For 600+ pesos the room is decent, with a hot shower and a small cable TV. The hotel doesn't feel very old, and it seems fairly secure since a police patrol car is usually there during night patrols.

The bathroom was awful, with the pipes missing under the sink and a shower that didn't work, including the hot and cold water. The bed was itchy, and the pillows seemed about 50 years old. When I asked for another pillow, they said there was only one per single bed, even though we'd paid for a family room. There were only two of us, but although the place was almost empty, they said the only room available was the family room and charged us more. By far the worst suite stay I've ever had.
