I’d stayed here two years ago, and the service is still good. It remains one of the more affordable quality stays in General Santos. The location is handy for malls and restaurants like KCC, GMall, and SM, and the main highway is a short walk away. That walk could be less pleasant in the rain, since the area may get muddy. I appreciated being allowed to check in early for an extra 100 pesos. The bed was comfortable, and the room stayed quiet day and night. Internet was good enough for remote work. I worked from 11 PM Sunday until 9 AM Monday without any problems, and YouTube and Amazon Prime streamed smoothly. Mobile data was less reliable, especially with Smart. The air conditioner made noise for a few minutes at first, then the room cooled nicely. The hot shower worked very well.

The front desk receptionist was friendly, and the AC worked. Water pressure was good, and there’s a shower. It’s an old hostel, but fine for a short visit. The Wi-Fi was weak and kept cutting out.

The female receptionist was rude to me and the other guests throughout our stay, and seemed visibly irritated. We didn’t feel welcome, just like we were bothering her. Staff represent the whole establishment, so her behavior reflected badly on the hotel. If she has no patience with guests, hospitality may not be the right job for her.

The room was clean and decent for the price, and I honestly had a great time. But the female front desk staff member was very rude, unkind, and sarcastic when answering my questions. Her behavior ruined the experience for me.

I actually stayed at Sonly Hotel. The price was good, and the location is very convenient, right by KCC Mall and SM General Santos.
