The Spiski Palace Apartments

The location was excellent, and clear instructions sent before arrival made getting in easy. But the heat made our stay far less comfortable than expected. Two of us stayed on the ground floor in the last week of August, and the apartment was already unbelievably hot when we arrived in the early evening. There was hardly any airflow when we opened the windows. The bedroom is an upstairs loft where the heat gathers, and the stairs blocked the large windows enough to make opening them and getting air in difficult. The heavy curtains seemed to hold in even more warmth. A very clean fan was provided, but its cord was too short to position helpfully. The host brought another fan and an extension cord the next day, which was kind, though I hadn’t realized someone would enter the room while we were out. Air conditioning was listed when I booked, but there wasn’t any. The shower head had broken off, so showering took effort and basically one hand. Toiletries were sparse, just toilet paper and watery hand soap, though that didn’t bother us. The apartment has a great location and a lot of potential, but the ventilation and shower condition let it down. It might work better in winter once the shower is repaired.
