Szara Willa

Breakfast fell short of what I expected for the price, and I was disappointed enough that I wouldn’t choose the hotel again. My room was in another wing, with a long walk and several changes in level to get there. It also felt as if it was in a basement area, which was a letdown at that price. One thing I did appreciate was the easy access: you can drive right into the underground parking and take the elevator directly to the hotel, which was especially useful in bad weather.

The room was roomy, clean, and really comfortable, and the staff were top-notch. The location’s great too, just a few minutes’ walk from the main market. Breakfast was very nice, especially with the patio. Everything about the stay was great, and I’d definitely come back.

We come to Szara Willa for a long weekend every January, and this time the staff upgraded our rooms to deluxe doubles. The breakfast buffet is decent, though I do miss the basement pub that’s no longer there. We had a great time bowling on Sunday evening.

The hotel is close to the city center, has free nearby parking, and the family room was big enough for us and our two children. The pull-out couch worked for small kids. Breakfast selection was fine for the price and ranking, though the bowling downstairs can be noisy and might bother sensitive guests. There were a couple of problems during our stay. The elevator wasn’t working when we arrived, and it seemed nobody knew when it would be fixed. The sink in our room was clogged, so reception sent a man who spent almost half an hour repairing it. Since the hotel didn’t seem full, I think changing our room and doing the maintenance without guests watching would have been more appropriate.
