Hotel HP Park Plaza Wroclaw

The room was quiet, clean, and well equipped, and I had a lovely view of the river. The hotel is elegant and only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. The mattress was softer than I like, and the pillow was too big for me.

Hello, I like this hotel and have stayed here many times. But the parking charge really disappoints and angers me: 90 PLN per night is very high compared with other hotels in Poland. Their prices keep going up, and it feels like they’re seeing how much they can squeeze from their clients.

The hotel looks out over the river and is very clean. It’s about 2 km from the Christmas market, and my partner enjoyed the breakfast. Our bedroom, presumably the renovated one on the sixth floor, was spacious enough. But it was too hot for me even in December, so I had to use the air con, and the windows didn’t open, which meant no fresh air. We stayed three nights. One day we were out until 15.30, and when we got back, housekeeping hadn’t been in. The receptionist, a man in his 30s with a ponytail, was scruffy, wearing just a shirt with no tie, and rude. I waited patiently while he was on the phone, which was fine, but when he finished he ignored me and started talking to a couple who had just walked in. After travelling extensively, I’m not sure I’d call this a four-star hotel. Little things were missing, like bathroom toiletries: just one Dove liquid dispenser. What about shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion? And bottled water?

Rynek square was within walking distance, with plenty of good places to eat, shopping, and striking buildings nearby. The hotel was clean, though outdated, and the service was okay and helpful at times despite reception being constantly busy. The curtains and carpet looked old and dated, and there was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, even though the cleaner came in twice.
