Astoria - Willa Literatów

The food was great.

Really great.

The location made it easy to get around even without a car: Krupówki Street is a 10-minute walk, the ski jump about 15 minutes on foot, the train station a 10-minute taxi ride, and the hiking trails are also a 10-minute walk away. In winter, Astori lends out sleds for free. We stumbled on Astoria by accident, and it turned out to be the best choice. Everyone on the staff was kind, friendly, and ready to help. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, with guest shampoo and soap, a hairdryer, towels, and roomy wardrobes that held all our luggage. There was also a fridge and kettle, with cups and tea waiting for guests. We spent time playing board games in the big ground-floor living room, which has a piano. Since we booked breakfast, I’ll mention that fresh bread, hot dishes, sweet extras, and different drinks were served each day. It wasn’t a buffet; tables were assigned to rooms. You can order lunch at Astoria too, and ours was fresh, homemade, tasty, and very well priced. It came in three courses: soup, a main dish, and dessert. I recommend visiting if you like home cooking, friendly service, and a great atmosphere.

The people working in the kitchen and dining room were so warm and wonderful, and Dorotka deserves special mention. She handles everything beautifully and is easy to talk to. Even a brief conversation with her is a pleasure, especially with her wide range of interests. I was in Zakopane for the Ski Jumping World Cup, and the accommodation was close to the ski jumps, which I highly recommend, as well as to the trails. The beds were comfortable and the food delicious. I’d choose Villa Astoria again if I stayed in Zakopane. I highly recommend it!
