The location is the only real advantage. The building is old and dirty, with mold in my room and dead bugs in the wall. The cleaning ladies basically did nothing about the mold, and during the summer the whole residence was full of ants. The owner seems to care only about money and has problems returning deposits. I’d never recommend this place.

I spent five months there on Erasmus. The location is the one advantage, but the infrastructure and amenities are really poor, and the smell, especially in the kitchen, is sometimes unbearable. The bigger problem is the owner not returning deposits, often on the basis of false claims that guests broke something. I don’t recommend this place.

The building is great and the location is good, but for what you pay, it could be better. It doesn’t feel like the owner puts much effort into making the place cozy. The receptionist was nice and helped with our late arrival.

It has a cozy, authentic feel, but no receptionist was there when I arrived. I waited for two hours, then asked a local if I could use his phone to call the Host. He said there’d been an emergency and he’d had to leave the hostel. He arrived 15 minutes after my call.

A really nice option for the price in Coimbra’s Baixa area. The location is perfect, the owner is super nice, and the beds are comfy.
