The service was awful and the rooms were horrible. It's a very old building, but that doesn't excuse what happened. During a storm, the balcony door wouldn't close and the wind blew the window open, so we had to sleep with it open. The manager brushed off the concern. One of the two bathroom faucets only ran cold, and management didn't respond to that either. We could hear people using the toilet in other rooms through the paper-thin walls. The crooked old floors are covered in worn carpet, and the bed felt like sleeping on bamboo with a yoga mat on top. Is all of this supposed to be part of the historical charm? I complained about these problems, but when I explained to the manager why we left, they were rude instead of understanding. We didn't even ask for a refund. The manager also said that because I had booked a budget double room, I shouldn't expect a problem with two people staying there, since it was listed for two. I arrived past midnight, so there was nobody to speak to about a second visitor. After I raised the issues, they cancelled my booking, which meant I couldn't leave a bad review on the Booking.com page. There are much better alternatives at the same price.

The room had poor lighting and smelled strongly of mold and decay. The mold smell got into my clothes, and with my sensitivities I was coughing and hacking. I felt sick, ended up bedridden, and my trip was ruined. I consider this a health hazard and am reporting the stay as a health violation. It felt unsafe. There was no heating, despite it being 4 degrees outside, and the room gave no protection from the weather even with everything closed. When I asked about heat, I was told it would cost over 200/n and that I should have checked what wasn't listed, so booking there was my fault. There wasn't even consideration for providing heat. After I brought that up and mentioned towels being removed from my room, the host vindictively said they wouldn't provide extra lighting or a room upgrade. Before I arrived, I was told they'd be away the first day and check-in would be self-service. That was fine, even in horrible weather. But on the first night, another guest locked me out of my room. Somehow that guest had keys to my room, which I didn't even have. The host and cleaning staff weren't around, so they contacted a third random guest in another room who also had keys and got them to help me get back in. Random guests had keys to my room. The staff were horribly rude and inconsiderate. The beds were so bad I could feel the springs in my back, and the pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. The shower pressure was horrible, hardly more than a trickle, and the shower was tiny. I had to hold my own toiletries while showering. Towels were thin and small, smelled moldy, and there was nowhere to hang them. There was no heating or cooling, only one outlet near the bed, and no trash can, usable mirror or kettle in the room. There was no hair dryer in the room, though you could ask for one. The WiFi was very slow. It was quiet, but there was zero protection from noise or weather outside, even with everything closed. Breakfast wasn't included; you don't want it anyway, apparently it's just meager bread and cheese. There was nothing good about this place. Do not stay here.

The location was really good, and the welcome from Humberto and his lovely father made the stay. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked, but they greeted me so warmly, upgraded my room, and went out of their way to help with every request. They were genuinely kind hosts.

The rooms were spotless, with the cleaning lady coming in every day, and there was a coffee and tea station where you could make a drink for a small price. Our host was lovely too, helping us rent a car and even offering us chocolates. We really enjoyed staying here and appreciated the hospitality.

I left four days early and flew home because I couldn't wait to get out of this place. The owner came banging on my door late at night to ask why I'd left a bad review, then threatened to throw me out the next day. I felt threatened and changed my flights to go home early. They even changed the Wi-Fi password afterwards, which felt childish. The room was filthy and smelled bad, and the beds and pillows were completely worn out. The towels and bedding felt like sandpaper, and everything seemed cheap and old. Nothing worked properly, and it looked like there had been no care or maintenance for 40 years. I had to wait outside for 40 minutes when I arrived, even though I'd emailed ahead. At least it wasn't raining. Breakfast stopped in the middle of the week, while their priority seemed to be the internet, despite how dirty the place was. It was an awful stay, especially after being threatened late at night.
