The balcony was lovely for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening, and the bed was especially comfortable. The apartment was well equipped, with a full kitchen, an ironing board, air conditioning, and a washing machine. It also has private parking. The hosts were responsive and accommodating, and even let me check in early. Tropical Sun by MHM is right in the heart of Funchal, with easy access to attractions, restaurants, and shops. I enjoyed stepping out to explore the lively neighborhood, then returning to the apartment’s peaceful atmosphere. It’s a comfortable, convenient, charming place to stay.

The apartment itself is very good, with everything we needed, a really comfortable bed, a nice layout, underground parking, and a lovely shady veranda overlooking the harbor. We’d be happy to return once the shower has been renovated, which is why I’m giving it only 3 stars. The shower was usable, but it spoiled the rest of the good impression. The shower basket hanger was completely rusty, the aluminum profiles were heavily calcified at the bottom, and the shower head sprayed from the rod, which had been held together with Sellotape. Worst of all was the foul smell from the drain. We managed to keep it at bay by covering the drain with a large yogurt cup turned upside down.
